Anne’s Story: Finding Balance and Strength at 83
By Alex Hunt, Founder of Fleet Healthcare
Anne’s story is one of reflection, commitment, and quiet progress. Listening to her speak about balance, strength, and the importance of learning highlights how meaningful the right support can be when the body needs extra care.
Anne is a Good Samaritan Sister and is almost 83 years old. She speaks thoughtfully about her health and the reasons she sought physiotherapy.
“I’ve had two knee replacements and my balance is not very good.”
When Balance Became a Concern
After her knee replacements, Anne noticed changes in how steady she felt. Balance became something she needed to actively work on, rather than take for granted.
“I have felt the need to have some physio.”
That awareness is important. Recognising when support is needed is often the first step toward improvement.
Learning With the Right Guidance
Anne works with Martin, one of our physiotherapists, and the way she describes him speaks volumes.
“He is an excellent teacher.”
For Anne, physiotherapy is not just about doing exercises. It is about understanding them, learning how the body responds, and building confidence through knowledge.
She also values the companionship that comes with consistent care.
“He is a good companion.”
Building Strength and Stability
Over time, Anne has noticed changes in how her body feels.
“The exercises he has given me have really begun to help me balance better.”
She also speaks about strength returning.
“For my muscles to grow a bit stronger.”
These improvements are gradual, but they matter. Better balance and strength support independence and confidence as people age.
The Value of Care at Home
One of the biggest benefits for Anne is not having to travel for her appointments.
“The fact that Martin comes here and I haven’t got to go anywhere else, that has been really helpful.”
Care delivered at home removes stress, saves energy, and makes it easier to stay consistent with therapy.
Why This Story Matters
Anne’s story is not about dramatic change. It is about learning, adapting, and building strength and balance with the right support at 83.
It is about care that respects experience, values teaching, and meets people where they are.
This is what mobile physiotherapy can offer.
Guidance that builds understanding.
Support that restores confidence.
Care that fits naturally into daily life.
For Anne, that has made a meaningful difference.
