Working as a Physiotherapist at Fleet Healthcare
By Alex Hunt, Founder of Fleet Healthcare
When I listen to Mehreen speak about her experience, what stands out immediately is her unwavering focus on the people she supports. For her, physiotherapy is not just about exercises or treatment plans. It is about helping clients build confidence, achieve meaningful progress, and improve their quality of life in an environment where they feel comfortable.
Mehreen’s experience reflects the kind of care we strive to deliver every day. Care that puts the client first, values genuine outcomes over numbers, and gives clinicians the opportunity to do the work they entered the profession to do.
Mehreen is a physiotherapist in our Fleet Healthcare team. Her story highlights how delivering care in the community creates better experiences for both clients and clinicians.
Putting Clients at the Centre
One of the first things Mehreen shares is what matters most in her work.
“With Fleet, the client’s needs are very central.”
That philosophy shapes every interaction. Rather than expecting clients to fit around the healthcare system, we believe care should fit around the individual. Every person’s goals, circumstances, and environment are different, and that is reflected in how our clinicians deliver support.
For Mehreen, keeping the client at the centre is what allows meaningful progress to happen.
Helping Clients Succeed at Home
A key part of Mehreen’s experience is seeing the benefits of treating people in their own homes.
“My clients feel more comfortable being in their home. It’s such a familiar environment.”
Working in a familiar setting helps clients feel more relaxed and confident during their appointments. It also makes therapy more practical because exercises can be completed in the environment where they will become part of everyday life.
“They’re able to replicate those exercises when you’re not there. The compliance for the programme is very good.”
For physiotherapists, seeing clients continue with their programme between visits is incredibly rewarding. It means therapy extends beyond the appointment and becomes part of a person’s daily routine.
Seeing the Difference You Make
Like many clinicians, Mehreen finds the greatest reward in seeing her clients achieve their goals.
“When you see your clients doing well, it makes you happy.”
She explains it simply.
“Because this is why I’m doing this. It’s to help people.”
Those words capture something that is shared by so many of the clinicians at Fleet Healthcare. The most meaningful part of the job is not the number of appointments completed. It is knowing that the work you do helps someone move more confidently, live more independently, and enjoy a better quality of life.
A Healthcare First Approach
Mehreen also reflects on the culture she has experienced at Fleet Healthcare.
“Fleet is not hyper focused on numbers. They want to see the client do well.”
She goes on to describe the organisation in a way that made me smile.
“It’s very healthcare focused.”
That is exactly what we aim to be.
Supporting clinicians to focus on quality care rather than unrealistic targets creates better outcomes for everyone. It allows therapists to build meaningful relationships with their clients and spend their energy where it matters most, helping people achieve lasting progress.
Why This Story Matters
Mehreen’s experience reflects the culture we continue to build at Fleet Healthcare. A workplace where client outcomes come first, where clinicians are trusted to deliver personalised care, and where success is measured by the difference we make in people’s lives.
For physiotherapists considering a career in mobile allied health, her story provides an honest perspective on what the role can offer. You have the opportunity to build genuine relationships with clients, support meaningful outcomes in their own homes, and work within a team that values healthcare above all else.
Care that puts people first.
Work that creates lasting impact.
A team committed to helping both clients and clinicians thrive.
